My Lil Slugger!

Surprise Party

My friend Aimee invited us over on Friday night. I was really looking forward to going, because we hadn't seen the family in quite a while. To my surprise they had the kitchen decorated and a wonderful chocolate cake made just for my birthday! My friend Jeannie decorated it so beautifully!! We had a wonderful time. The Lord has truly blessed me with amazing, godly, and loving friends. I couldn't ask for more. They sharpen me so much and are always there for me. It was such a sweet surprise and I really appreciated it soooo much!! Here are some pics of the night.

My Birthday

Well, my birthday was yesterday and I turned "26". I am now officially closer to "30" than "20" and I really don't like the thought of that!!! Anyway, thank the Lord for another year of life!! I had an excellent birthday. I truly felt so incredibly loved! First of all, my grandmother surprised me by bringing me a cherry cheesecake. Yummy!! My mom sent me a card with money. Yipee!! Two aunts and one great aunt wished me a happy day. Then my sweet neighbor brought me some beautiful flowers and a sweet card! I was already feeling soooo overwhelmed with love and then my husband came home. He brought some amazing steaks home and "he" cooked a DELICIOUS dinner. While he was cooking he ran me a bubble bath and I listened to some relaxing music. He kept Ethan so quiet too! It was soooo relaxing and felt so good. Dave stuck a candle in a chocolate lava cake and he and Ethan sang to me. Of course I had tears. It was so sweet. I am going to show you the card that he got for me from Ethan. I thought it was not only perfect, but hilarious!
It's kind of hard to read this so I'll tell you. It says "especially with a kid like me around", then it has this huge white dot springing out that reads"ASPIRIN- 500,000mg"!!!!!!!! SO funny!!!!!!

I am truly so blessed to be alive and so honored to have such loving family and friends in my life. Please pray for me to live closer to and to love my Lord so much that I spend more time with him this year! I have wasted so much of my life and who knows how many more days I have. Life is a vapor that is only here for a little time and then vanishes away...as the Word tells us. Humbling thought as I grow older so quickly!!

And...He's Off!!!

Isn't it just the most adorable thing to watch a baby learn to walk??!! I love seeing him. He is getting better and better every day. He has also learned how to climb up on one of my chairs in the sunroom. I guess that kind of new found confidence comes when learning to walk! :) By the way...gotta love those frankenstein arms. They are the cutest!!

Dave's B-day Date...Yes I said "DATE"

Ok, so, Dave had his birthday yesterday. He turned the big "28"!! We actually went out to a nice restaurant. Can you believe it??? Well, I guess we kind of cheated because we left after we put Ethan down for bed. So, our alone time would have been alone time anyway...but who cares. We got out and it was a sweet special time. Praise the Lord for another year of life, health, and a sweet relationship! Birthdays are always a reminder to me of God's gift of life. To live another day is such a blessing. Thank you Father for life!! Here are some pics of our night out.

This one here is a shot of my handsome hubby driving us to the restaurant.

This one is a picture we had taken outside of the restaurant while we waited to be seated.
This is Dave in front of the doors. I thought the doors were pretty! By the way, if you look closely, Dave is holding my brown animal print wallet!! :)
Here is a warm chocolate cheesecake that they brought us. And that is water in those glasses, by the way! :)
And last, but not least, is a picture of us after the meal. You can see that we were both very tired. We didn't get home until almost 11:00pm. We had a wonderful time and the food was great! We split the meal and I am so glad (not just because of the price :), because the food was so yummy and rich that there was no way we could have eaten individual orders.
